This policy explains how IraqGov.com handles visitor information. IraqGov.com is an independent informational directory unless legally designated otherwise. It helps people find links to Iraqi government websites.

What data we collect

We do not require accounts and we do not collect names, email addresses, or phone numbers through forms. Limited processing may include aggregate visit and outbound-link click statistics, plus the theme preference stored on your device.

Visit and link-click counters

The site shows a visit counter and per-link click counters for simple usage statistics. Rate limits and session safeguards reduce automated spam and rapid repeated requests.

Local storage for theme preferences

Your chosen colour theme is saved in the browser’s localStorage so it persists after refresh. You can clear site data in your browser settings to remove it. Session storage may also be used to avoid counting the same visit more than once in a session.

Cookies

When counter APIs are available on the server, a technical session cookie (for example iraqgov_sid) may be set to enforce rate limits and prevent duplicate counting. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

Advertisement links and third-party sites

Advertisement banners may link to third-party websites. When you follow an ad or a government institution link, you leave IraqGov.com and that site’s own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for external content or practices.

External government websites

Links to ministries, governorates, and institutions are provided for informational convenience. Each external government website has its own privacy policy and terms.

Data security practices

We harden the site with HTTP security headers, safe handling of external URLs, and rate limiting on counter endpoints. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
